The Kode 0

The Kode 0

Feb 8th, 2018 –

Recently unveiled at The Quail, A Motorsports Gathering, Kode 0 (pronounced “Kode Zero”) is a one-off creation from the mind of Japanese industrial designer Ken Okuyama that oozes old school style. Okuyama—who cut his teeth at GM and Porsche before heading to Italy and ultimately creating the Enzo Ferrari while he was creative director at Pininfarina—was inspired to create the Kode 0 by classic exotics like the Lancia Stratos Zero and the Lamborghini Countach.

The wedge-shaped Kode 0 stands as a testament to the designers affection for the past classics while still being completely modern with a carbon fiber monocoque, vertical LED headlights, integrated cooling ducts and a 700 horsepower engine. While the designer won’t say exactly what’s powering this supercar, we do know it’s a naturally aspirated V12, and there aren’t too many exotic brands making those anymore. The Kode 0 doesn’t have a price tag associated with it, but we have a sneaking suspicion it’s one of those “if you have to ask, you can’t afford it” situations.

Simon and the team at Nude create eye-catching, original visuals, cool concepts and are sticklers for deadlines and meeting budgets. What more can one ask for in a design firm?

Our company partners with Nude Creative on a variety of branding and positioning projects. I can say without hesitation that they are one of the most client responsive and responsible firms I have worked with over my 25-year career. They have great design talent, easy wit, and an ability to cope under considerable pressure.
